Custom bike builder from Lisbon converts the 80' Ducati to modern creature

Ducati Pantah 500 from complete junk

The original or "the donor" bike was bought in UK under total junk condition. The owner asked Lisbon based custom motorcycle builder, Maria Motorcycles to make it like new.

“It wasn’t much more than a frame, wheels and an engine. We had no idea how long it had been in that state, but we accepted the project, and embraced as a real challenge.”

The V-twin engine was sent back to England to Ducati specialist, Ducati Technical Sevices. Two mnoth later, engine came back with bored up 600cc and in almost like new condition.

Original but new

The tank was custom made to give it an Imola look. Fairing from what Maria had in stock, suspension with original Marzocchi fitment with Biturbo shocks. Maria kept the thin tires so as it used be back in the old days. Brake system was overhauled. Maria's master work of exhaust is fitted, as well.

“It’s agile, light and fast. The old Ducati engines are a surprise when you ride them: Even an old bike like this has lots of torque.”
